Welcome toBike Club!
Thank you so much for joining over 60,000 other families across Europe in getting active outdoors whilst teaching their children a valuable life skill. We’re so excited to have you as part of the Bike Club family revolutionising kids cycling.
This welcome pack is designed to guide you through quickly setting up your new bicycle and to help your child get riding as easily as possible. So that the whole family can set out on new adventures together.
Bike Club was created and is run by parents who completely understand how important it is for children to spend active time with their families. We believe that every child should have the best possible chance to fall in love with cycling and to make lifelong memories with their families on two wheels. We’re here to help create those family moments. We want to inspire the next generation and make the world a better place, and you’re helping us achieve that goal. Thanks for joining the club. We can’t wait to see where your adventures take you!

Handlebar Set-up
1: Are the brakes in the correct position?
Very important! When removing the bike from the box, check the brakes are positioned in front of the stem and not behind it. Incorrect positioning will make the bike unsafe to ride.
2: Straighten handlebars
Rotate the handlebars by 90˚ whilst keeping the front wheel stationary between your legs. Please note, the brakes and gear cables will move around with the handlebars. The cables should be sitting in front of the handlebars.
3: Tighten side bolts
Using an allen key, tighten the bolts on the side of the stem. Don’t adjust the bolt on top of the stem. This is pre-adjusted to the correct tension by our mechanics. Top tip: this can be easier with two people: one holding the handlebars straight, and the other tightening the bolts.
Pedal Set-up
1: Identify left and right
Please note, the pedals are not identical. You will find an L (left) and an R (right) engraved on each pedal. Installing a pedal on the wrong side will mean it loosens over time and could come off when riding. It will also damage both the pedal and the crank arm.
2: Install the pedals
The left pedal is on the side of the bike without the chain and tightens anti-clockwise. The right-pedal is on the side of the bike with the chain and tightens clockwise. Putting the pedal on should be done by hand. It should be very easy and smooth, so if you feel any resistance, do not force the pedal into the crank.
3: Tighten the pedals
Once pedals have been tightened by hand, make them tighter using a spanner. There is no need to overtighten, a snug fit is ideal.
Saddle adjustment
1: Foot position on pedal
When positioning your child’s foot on the pedal, please ensure the ball of the foot is on the pedal.
2: Ride position
When sat on the bike, with the pedal closest to the ground, there should be a slight bend in the leg.
3: Adjusting seat height
It’s really important to ensure the saddle is the correct height. Open the quick release lever to adjust the seat height. If there is no lever, you need to loosen the bolt with a 5 or 6mm allen key.
