As one of the most amazing and adrenaline-filled cycling events in the calendar year, you can imagine how excited the Bike Club is about Six Day London.
Having the pleasure of sponsoring two elite cycling champions, Filip Prokopyszyn and Daniel Staniszewski (who will be representing Poland at the event) is just the cherry on top! 🍰
We were lucky enough to hold a Q&A with Filip Prokopyszyn in which he shared some inspiring facts about his beginnings in the sport, his dreams for the future of his cycling career and advice to young cyclists who chase a similar dream. 💭🚴♂️🏁🥇
How long have you been cycling for and what lead you to first get into the sport?
"My favourite competition is a six-day race because it's a great atmosphere there."
Which is your most memorable race to date?
"The race I remember the most is the one during which I got my first medal - at the world championships."
What goal are you working towards at the moment in your cycling career?
"In the future, I would like to win a rainbow jersey and become an Olympic champion. I dream of getting into the World Tour team."
Being able to represent your country every time you get on your bike must fill you with pride. How does it feel to be able to cycle for your country, and at such a young age?
"It's always a great honour to be able to put on a Polish national team jersey. I’m proud that I can wear it, considering the fact that I am so young."
the Bike Club has many young members who love to cycle, what advice would you give to young cyclists who aspire to get into riding competitively?
"I believe beginnings are always difficult, but you have to be persistent if you want to be a cyclist in the future."
Do you have a nickname given to you by your teammates?
"My nickname is SilverBoy."
Is there anyone in particular who you look up to?
"Ever since I started cycling, my role model has been Mark Cavendish. I am very excited to be able to race with my idol."
What was your favourite movie growing up?
"My favourite movie when I was little was Home Alone"
What is one thing everyone should remember about Filip Prokopyszyn a.k.a. SilverBoy?
"I’m incredibly fast."
